Tony O'Brien - Managing Director
Hobbies: Travelling, gym, boxing
Background: Eleven years ago, Tony began working on site at the age of seventeen as a fitter’s mate. Eager to learn more aspects of the trade, both installation and the functionality of systems, Tony quickly progressed. Within a year, he was not only installing his own work but also assisting other installers and clients with installations and coordination issues. After just three years, in January 2011, Tony formed O’Brien Ductwork Services (ODS), initially as a labour-only company. Following five successful years, Tony expanded the business when Alex joined ODS as a Commercial Director and Shareholder, transforming ODS into a complete supply and installation company.
Current Job Role Duties: Tony focuses on site management rather than the commercial aspects of projects. While Alex leads the commercial side of ODS, Tony drives projects forward on site. He strives to be extremely efficient with materials, labour, and logistical management. Tony’s experience allows him to preempt many potential issues and coordination problems before they arise, ensuring work is completed quickly without compromising quality.
Alex Clue – Commercial Director
Hobbies: Playing golf, live sports, cricket, food
Background: Alex began his career in the industry 20 years ago. He initially learned the ductwork trade with Phoenix Ventilation, starting in estimating before progressing to Contracts Director. Over his fifteen years there, he mastered all aspects of contract and commercial management. Following that, Alex expanded his career with established M&E companies as a Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor. In 2016, Alex joined O’Brien Ductwork Services as a Commercial Director and Shareholder. Together with Tony, he has developed the business into a complete supply and installation company.
Current Job Role Duties: Alex leads the commercial side of ODS, from the tender stage through to the completion of final accounts. He is exact and thorough, ensuring all paperwork is precise and punctual. Additionally, Alex manages accounts, credit control, and all quality assurance for ODS, guaranteeing the company remains in a positive, strong financial position. Furthermore, he assists with contracts as needed.
